Phyllis Loomis
began her adult life as an art teacher and has taught one thing or
another throughout hói life. She has been married twice, is
the mother of four children, a grandmother of six, and a great
giandmother of one. She is a painter, a sculptors a quilter, video
produccr and a flutist. She rides a bike, takes long hikes, climbs
mountains, is an actress, and spends a lot of time reading. She
enjoys watching opera and all of the Shakespearean Canon as well
as modern plays, ballet and modern dance. Having traveled
worldwide, she has lived on three continents and in seven states
reaching from New England to Hawaii and Alaska and back to New
England where she now lives. At the age of seventy-nine she
fulfilled a lifelong dream of sailing on a small boat across an
ocean and living long enough to write a book about that adventure.
